Behavioral Interviewing

Employee selection tips like conducting behavioral interviewing, which is used to screen potential job candidates, is becoming more common in today's job market. It is thought that a good predictor of future performance is past performances in comparable circumstances. Some companies are relying heavily on this tactic to determine whether or not a job candidate will perform well at the company.

Career personality tests are similar to Behavioral Interviewing, which is said to be more effective than traditional interviewing. Behavioral interviewing is considered effective because it doesn't allow the job candidate to bend the truth as much as it is possible in a traditional interview. An interviewer might ask you about a specific situation that you encountered and then ask lots of probing questions while you are telling the story, "What were you thinking or feeling at that point?" or "What is your decision process?"

Behavioral Interviewing Determine Potential Success
Companies believe that the results of behavioral interviewing can help determine the candidates potential for success at the company. They use the interviewing process to determine professionalism, teamwork, confidence, critical thinkers, and many other traits.

The questions usually require a lot of detail and specifics in order to be answered properly. Responding in general terms will probably only require more specific questions from the interviewer. Be as specific and direct as you can in this type of interview situation.
